Join the Prayer Team
St Luke Lutheran Church wants to pray for you. We are a group of dedicated Christians that lift up others in regular prayer. Prayers can be for a need as well as in thanksgiving for something positive that has happened. Praying as a group amplifies the power of prayer and allows us to connect, both with a power greater than ourselves, and with one another. Being a recipient of a prayer lets you know you are not alone and instills hope and good feelings. Send in your prayer request today.
PRAYERS
For those in Need
Give your angels charge over those in our prayers, Lord. Tend the sick, give energy to the caregivers, rest the weary, bless the dying, soothe the suffering, be with those who travel and give strength and courage to those who do your work. In your love, give us all these, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
For the Home Bound
Lord, we lift up those who are home bound all over the world. Please bring them peace, comfort and strength. Let them rejoice for the things they are able to do. Give all those who look after them knowledge, patience, and compassion and let us know what we can and should be doing for them.
For those in the Military
We pray for all the members of the American military and foreign service anywhere in the world. Allow them to accomplish their missions and come home safely to us. We pray for all those innocently caught up in the conflicts.
For our Enemies
Because our Lord Jesus commanded us to pray for our enemies and those who persecute us, we ask you, Lord to always remind us that you created them in your image, that Christ died for them, that they are beloved of God just like us, so that we might with sincerity pray, Lord have mercy on them.
For the Sick and Infirm and their Caregivers
Father, you are the unfailing refuge of those who suffer—bring peace and comfort to the sick and the infirm. Give all those who look after them knowledge, patience, and compassion. Inspire them with actions which will bring relief; words which will enlighten; and love which will bring comfort. We ask this through your son, Jesus Christ. Amen
Prayer of Thankfulness
Lord, Let us not forget the good and positive that is happening in the world. Thank you for the blessings you have bestowed on us. Let us appreciate the beauty of nature, the power of a smile, our amazing bodies, and the abundance you have given us. Open our hearts to uplifting thoughts and to spreading joy to those we encounter. Amen
Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass
against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.
Prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
To be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
